“Wherever a man separates from the multitude, and goes his own way in this mood, there indeed is a fork in the road, though ordinary travelers may see only a gap in the paling. His solitary path across lots will turn out the higher way of the two.” - Thoreau

The right path is always the one you choose. There is a reason you choose that one. The reason may not be evident immediately, but eventually it will become clear to you. It is said that love is the answer, but one must ask, "then what was the question?" Always thought provoking, Pete. Lydi**

Choosing the correct path is not always easy... But hopefully we learn by our mistakes..Enjoyed the read..
Hi Pete, finally posted Stripteaser ...one I have been working on for 6 long months..

The music certainly sets the mood for your poem; it sounds disjointed, atonal, chaotic... and more; It also seems like the path you embarked upon was extremely disjointed like the music, perhaps because you were uncertain about your emotions; your mind have been unsure of what path to take; there was a split in the road and I believe you took the right one; Perhaps you lost a love; you split like-the sea; and you were not able to bridge the gap in your love; you might have blamed yourself and that's why" you'll never arrive at the promised land"
Nice write Pete!
Best, B

Not sure about the concept of neutrality sir or straddling the fences. Man must stand for something or on something; must support a cause, a country, a flag, a truth, a mission, a God or not, good or evil and the list goes on.
An excellent take on that.
Good Evening from here my ever intelligent friend~
Walk in virtue and no matter how many cross roads will appear, You will reach the promised end. no doubting and no duality, when we fall into this trap, we will lose our right path.

Don't try to be intelligent, because You already are a one, my very spiritual kind-hearted friend :>
Yes by way of agreement, empathy and praise for both subject and manner.

ash by day and soot by night

Loved these lines! There is a much deeper and darker feeling to this writing, and I really admire your talent, Pete! Thanks for sharing!

I love reading, writing, music, nature, God and feeling emotion, not necessarily in that order. To me, these things go hand in hand. My favorite writer is Henry David Thoreau. I think he was a geni.. more..
