Misconception

Misconception

A Poem by Pete
"

What men call social virtues, good fellowship, is commonly but the virtue of pigs in a litter, which lie close together to keep each other warm. - Thoreau

"
Mount Vesuvius eruption so hot it 'turned victim's brain to glass' | The Independent | The Independent

born of arrogance
refusing to abort
copulated in ignorance
erupting like a vasuvius of infertile semen
a worn, yellowed fornication of fiction

a pierced labia of judgement contracted
a prolonged labor of twisted falsehoods
a swollen lactation of breeched, thirsting lies
open and shut
case closed

Author's Note

Pete
"The philosopher's conception of things will, above all, be truer than other men's, and his philosophy will subordinate all the circumstances of life. To live like a philosopher is to live, not foolishly, like other men, but wisely and according to universal laws." - Thoreau

It seems a bit gloomy and cynical, nonetheless. I love what Jewel Kilcher wrote, "Maybe if we are surrounded in beauty, one day we will become what we see, I'd rather view the world from a different angle. We are everyday angels. Be careful with me cause I'd like to stay that way." Scripture says we are all gods in denial of our power and thus, unable to reach our full potential. Of our arrogance and ignorance there can be no doubt but what makes us of greater value than sparrows? We cannot fly. We seldom sing. I wonder if many know that they even have wings.
