Never to Be Outdone

Never to Be Outdone

A Poem by Pete
"

This is the only bird whose note affects me like music. It lifts and exhilarates me. It is inspiring. It changes all hours to an eternal morning. - Thoreau

"
.
Bird of Paradise

nominative to the sun

synchronically bound and free
a bird of paradise spread its wings in a tree
i saw it and it saw me
both subject of us and predicate of we

together punctuated as one

never to be outdone

for eternity

Author's Note

Pete
"Each new year is a surprise to us. We find that we had virtually forgotten the note of each bird, and when we hear it again, it is remembered like a dream, reminding us of a previous state of existence. How happens it that the associations it awakens are always pleasing, never saddening, reminiscences of our sanest hours. The voice of nature is always encouraging." - Thoreau

You're kidding me, I love in such a short piece you can't out do nature but life will.

thanks mauricio. happy new year. don't forget to occasionally look up in the trees ... :(
Wow! This has deep meaning. You are awakened by nature, birds of a feather and the New Year. I wonder if they keep time like humans?
You are soaring and soaring, sir.
