Get It All Right

Get It All Right

It is only when we forget all our learning that we begin to know. - Thoreau

A Return to Sail Ships - Fun Kids - the UK's children's radio station

talk to god
shout at the devil
angle eternity at the end of a bevel
forge my spirit
sign my soul
feed a multitude on an isle of shoal
look up to heaven while scratching earth
praise dusty, lonely, faith-filled women giving birth
live for today
die to tomorrow
cry yourself to sleep and save the sorrow

tell the truth
sequester a lie
kneel and pray before you die
congratulate dusk
greet the dawn
challenge reason as you stretch and yawn
build a cross
forge the nails
catch the wind and raise the sails
stop hiding
let yourself be seen
play it cool if you get what i mean
kick, tap and lift your heels
dance, dance and dance some more
if you start getting weary, i'll hold open the door
celebrate the sun and praise the night
always wear knickers when flying a kite
just be sure to

get it all right

Author's Note

Pete
"A man's real faith is never contained in his creed, nor is his creed an article of his faith. The last is never adopted. This it is that permits him to smile ever, and to live even as bravely as he does. And yet he clings anxiously to his creed, as to a straw, thinking that that does him good service because his sheet anchor does not drag." - Thoreau
