a kitschy, faux jewel

she played me for a fool

so i hung out with some guys who put the "oo" in cool

glasses dark as a moonless midnight

ringed fingers strumming blue rhythm and soul

topped with a fedora that knows how to rock and roll

remember to take your books to school

check twice before you comb your beard

i don't know but i think it's weird

ice water knows how to both sweat and drool

always take a deep breath and hold it before you go off the deep end of the pool

At least you were not in the submersible, signing a waiver before death. I feel lots of realizations and not heeding warnings growing up; live and learn I guess.
