Submarine Sandwich with Periscope ...

i feel an insatiable need to write
to ease a metaphorical drought and poetic plight
something
anything
everything
to spill my guts
to change "ifs", "ands" and "ors" to "buts"
ignoring "what's"
perhaps it will get me out of these deep ruts
opening a door that, up 'til now, only shuts

a rhyming clutz
eating the holes in donuts
life's putz
a legless man who struts
skating on unfrozen water and trying to do a triple lutz
undeniably nuts
spreading butter with a knife that cuts
in a submarine sandwich having only bread along with a one-eyed periscope
hold the cold cuts
