Pointed Guns And Drawn Butter

Pointed Guns And Drawn Butter

A Poem by Pete
"

Man needs to know but little more than a lobster in order to catch him in his traps. -Thoreau

Lobster Tank Watching at Red Lobster ...

on trial for my life
incarcerated here in this glass, holding tank
with rubber band handcuffs
my cohorts all gone

it's cold and lonely
it feels as though something is imminent
they treat me like an arrested, public enemy mobster
i'm just a poor, forlorn, bottom-feeding lobster

I don't know the reference to the video if there is one, but the title, subject manner, and wording I found to be enjoyable, funny ,and disturbing. These lines are quite great.

This poor lobster has been caught and waiting to be sold only to be boiled in hot water. Makes me feel sad for the shell fish. Arrested for being a tasty morsel lol

That is an amazing way to bring back fond memories. You enjoy your summer lobster!!
I think you just induced an existential crisis or two in me with this one. I remember when 'how bizzare' came out... the radio was still a thing. mid 90's. Good times. "buy the rights"

well laughter is the best medicine after all. thank you vol. keep well.
I love the metaphors here and as an aside ,I will only eat lobster I caught myself when diving. I know its provinence then. Can't use butter I caught myself however. Its too slippery.
