on a one-way, paranoia trip through what's left of my smoke-filled mind

i pull down the creaky, acidic, attic stairs and softly ascend

to the claustrophobic corners and darkest recesses

amidst cobwebs and dead spiders

i see things i could never have imagined

they say that fairies wear boots and dance with dwarfs

i heard and saw that along with pixies in pumps carrying purses

chasing away life's ills like an army of nurses

their wings, how they did glisten

i guess there's something for everyone

we just have to know where to look and how to listen

I liked this piece. Thought provoking and well done. I would have gotten the same reading experience if you had started your poem with second paragraph “I pulled down ……….” Let the reader image where the door was located. Thanks

cool about the flowers that you mention. i grew up with old school rock. black sabbath was a groundbreaking band. tony iommi played some of the best guitar riffs ever despite missing the tips of two fingers and wearing artificial tips that he fashioned himself so that he could still play - amazing. thanks for sharing fgf and keep appreciating those fairy flowers.
