Nighttime Ain't Just for Sleeping

Nighttime Ain't Just for Sleeping

A Poem by Pete
"

The poet who walks by moonlight is conscious of a tide in his thought which is to be referred to lunar influence. - Thoreau

Men Thinking Divorce Night Stock Photos ...

when day is divorced
when darkness surrounds
and the cold wraps around
when rain splashes against my window 'pain'
my ears are filled with the haunting echo of a distant, empty train

i think of the sea waving
snow covered mountains shaving
summer misbehaving
counting stars
cucarachas dancing on the road to shambala
i listen to milo gnawing on his bone
then i don't feel quite so alone

Plus, I do believe the moon controls our moods just as it does the seasons

yes, the moon is a force to be reckoned with and has always fascinated man.
your speak is magnificent. I had no trouble at all melting myself into the background "when the day is divorced when darkness surrounds" The rhyming scheme beautifully metered.
