Lunar CroonerA Poem by PeteI have, as it were, my own sun and moon and stars, and a little world all to myself. - Thoreautonight it's blood red reaching through darkness, it tucks me to bed lighting the way and holding me tight always there, no matter how slight a slice of melon, it changes it size unlike the sun, has no need to rise never too heavy for heaven's skies no need to diet to shrink thunder thighs bending down to kiss the tops of tall trees some say that it's made of tasty, green cheese stalking earth and never asking, "please" ruling the sea and owning its tide married to earth as its orbital bride many a soul's illuminating guide puffing it's cheeks with a rightly sense of pride standing time, tried and true rarely changing its fine complexion to blue © 2024 PeteAuthor's Note
