Beasts of Burden

we're obsessed with them

fascinated by them

fixated on them

magnets for steely eyes

these twin peaks

playing hide and seek

occasionally made to leak

floating in the creek

some choosing to give them a tweak

big ones not for the weak, timid or meek

hardly in need of my or anyone else's damned critique

there is only one creation, art is only a conscious recognition of it. that words will always fail to describe the glory of the earth is every poet's despair. but when there is sincere effort, like in this piece, to describe the impossible - something incredible can happen. every piece of poetry i read, i grow.
