Beyond These ConfinesA Poem by PeteWhen I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest. - Thoreaubeyond the scope pushing an uphill rope clinging to hope no need to wear white like the pope i'm in a different realma kingdom with music and nature at the helm hearing and seeing it through a prism of undeniable, unadulterated truth a crystal clear refraction of perpetual youth i'm a deaf, dumb and blind sleuth people see me and remark, "sometimes he can be so uncouth" as i climb the slippery elm subtly with no desire to overwhelm searching for answers in a night sky ridden by shooting stars with raised lancers praying down upon aging knees hands raised like swells on stormy seas giving thanks pleading, "please" clinging to a life preserver and relinquishing pride never in need of a ride because i hold the golden keys always able to see the forest along with each and every one of the towering trees in a domain that always knows and sees a purview that liberates and frees a kingdom that denounces lies as it lives and breathes i bask in the mellisonant notes in a place that floats a place that always rhymes in these trying times beyond these confines © 2025 PeteAuthor's Note
