What Would You Say?

What Would You Say?

A Poem by Pete

Means When Women Say “I Don't Know ...

tell me
if the moon said that it didn't have enough to eat and could never be full
if the river told you that it couldn't find its sneakers and was unable to run to the sea
if the sun changed itself into a daughter
if night refused to make room for day
if a mantis told you that it no longer wanted to pray
if the wind and chimes refused to play
if reason said that it couldn't break free and find a way
if the potter told you that he was all out of clay
tell me
what would you say

"Ok" .. lol
Like koans and other existential rubber-band games, "ok" will have to do.

The writing offers a nice little labyrinth walk, none the less, exploring the elemental and primary features of the natural world and our position in it. And personifying some of those features along the way is an intelligent design to bridge the reader with the reading.

Playful. A delightful piece Pete with its references to the natural world. I enjoyed the personification and wondered how many glasses of vino I would need to drink to find myself in this place. I was tempted. Much enjoyed.
