Battle of Braille

A Poem by Pete
"

Our feelings must have expression, or they will be as clouds, which, till they descend in rain, will never bring up fruit or flowers. - Henry Ward Beecher

Your Emotions Are Always Valid -
Painting by Juju X| Saatchi Art

emotions rise like mercury in july
falling as chilled confetti on the rocks
a scattered mess
can't make heads or tails
can't decide 'tween smooth pavement or gravel trails
just another day of baked, crusty, moldy feelings gone awry
to laugh is the polar opposite of to cry
to live is to feel and to feel is to know why
desire is rarely shy

Nice play on emotions..we all have crusty ones...i like to the emotion you describe about "feel", which is totally true...desire i think is always in us...rarely does it lay dormant....and our emotions change so frequently as well, sometimes we even get mixed about which one is current!

thanks twc.
With some, desire isn't shy at all. Of course, their expressions of it sometimes get them arrested.

lol. true that. if people could read our minds, we'd all be in jail for one thing or another.
Your poem dear Pete sounds very much like Thoreau... and I did really enjoy it.
As we older we realize your written thoughts even more.

The poet must get those emotions under control or they will make the White House their residence; you wake up looking at Orangee and his ego.

You are welcome sir Pete.
The title of this, Pete, is very insightful. Quite literally. it's brilliant!

Your piece prompts me to wonder again: if emotions are molecules (and chemically driven), what about the rest of that mind we house? ...
Nice write 🙏
