What They Say And What I Do

What They Say And What I Do

A Poem by Pete
"

We are born as innocents. We are polluted by advice. - Thoreau

"
The mind prison.. I am not an authority ...

they say that it's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll
always wash your breakfast bowl
never eat the donut hole
you've gotta have a gutter in order to bowl
all that's funny is droll
a quill is the only way to write on a scroll
a pimple is just an ugly mole
don't sprint through life but rather take time to enjoy the stroll

but if you want to stay whole
don't get old
never sell your soul
don a sweater if you're cold
if you're imprisoned, hire an attorney and seek parole
being small and living under a bridge doesn't make you a troll
better a patient diamond than a hurried lump of coal
don't say you weren't told
