I've always been a hugger, and never the first to pull away. Our souls are like hugs that warm us at the most opportune times that we need them to. It's the inner voice we heed. Always good to see you, Pete. I hope all is good in your world, my friend!

thans twc. hope all is well in your corner of the world.
Delicately powerful... Each line holds so much depth in so few words. There's a quiet ache beneath the softness, a longing not just for touch, but for understanding, for being seen and held beyond the physical. It's minimal, yet emotionally vast.

we could use the comfort as things wax madder. aways good to 'see you' chris.
love the idea of hugging a soul...much more meaning behind that than just hugging a body.
That edge is really worth standing on and we fall off, so what?

The simple yet effective nature of this poem is interesting......comparing wine with our lives....and yes, who knows what happens if we cultivate a "vine"...

I also love the works of Thoreau......good to hear this poem today....:)
