Unwelcome Mat

Unwelcome Mat

A Poem by Pete
"

"
The Myth of Daedalus and Icarus: Fly ...

hung my coat and flung my hat
another lonely, hungry, wanting soul begat
flapped my arms and started to fly
trying to find heaven before i die
faith and love being the winds that carry me high
at least until i go splat
on the doorstep of someone's unwelcome mat
forgetting how to cry
