Who's in Charge of Hiring?A Poem by Pete'neath a stolen, nuclear sun night interrogated for suspicion of shady darkness it's raining kidney stonesinto a hesitant, battery acid river clogged with wet, worthless, whistling dollar bills uncoordinated, juggling clowns crossing bank to bank and back again going nowhere walmart all out of toiled paper, what a pity things turning from crappy to downright s****y shards of broken, privacy glass in tears faded, scarlet trees standing tall upon steroid crutches distorted, elongated, rosary beads and poison ivy vines dangling and clinging everywhere faith carried in zippered backpacks with holes like swiss cheese loyalty like a box of crackerjacks blind people everywhere texting heaven on cellphones food banks handing out peanut butter and chlamydia yellow, boa constrictor scarves the day's fashion viagra cars driving themselves vaseline snakes having fun you need a finger to be number one no one knows what year this i'm starving and there's a stalled tesla blocking the mcdonald's drive thru perhaps i'll grow a moustache like fu manchu technology and artifical intelligence have come undone quick, someone voice dial 911 they want a million bucks for a half-dozen, cracked eggs while the government, without a leg to stand on, holds out its hand and begs striped, hoped for tomorrow and rich, lonely today in wide lapels charlatans casting spells while the old brick mill chimes its own pre-recorded bells so much for my plan so much for me being 'the man' think i'll just tune out and jimi jam © 2025 PeteFeatured Review
