Regrets

Regrets

A Poem by Pete
"

Make the most of your regrets; never smother your sorrow, but tend and cherish it till it comes to have a separate and integral interest. - Thoreau

"

pounding asphalt
combing outer banks
searching backwoods
pulling down folded stairs
querying mind's google
breathing qualms and trepidations in scratch and sniffs
asking what if's
crimes forever unsolved
matters unresolved
hearing, "we're" sorry" from a hung jury without hearing the smack of a gavel declaring fault
