Tantras And Mantras

Tantras And Mantras

A Poem by Pete
"

If Christ should appear on earth he could on all hands be denounced as a mistaken, misguided man, insane and crazed. - Thoreau

"
Hari Krishna's in the airports ...

in your saffron robe and shaved, chia pet head
amidst a burnt, incense smell
you danced in ecstasy to the metallic jingle of karatals
and the steady, faithful beat of a pied, clay mridangam
chanting, "hare krishna, hare krishna"

this, you did extol and exhort
together with others of the same faith, you did assort
despite folks thinking that your oil was down a quart
not just at the airport
but anywhere that wouldn't honor your virtuous, rubber-stamped, spiritual passport
