Apocalypse, Day By Day

Apocalypse, Day By Day

A Poem by Pete
"

no martin sheen
no motion picture, movie scene
things taking longer than they used to take
there must be some sort of cruel mistake

ironed wrinkles
missing hair, the rest graying
the horror
the horror
not just wearing it but
also just saying

"How earthy old people become - moldy as the grave! Their wisdom smacks of the earth. There is no foretaste of immortality in it. They remind me of earthworms and mole crickets." - Thoreau
