Still Waiting

Still Waiting

A Poem by Pete
"

When you knock, ask to see God – none of the servants. - Thoreau

"
Positioning Yourself to Hear From God ...

i see you in invisibility
hearing you in deafness
tasting you in bland, stirred pots
smelling you in congestion
reading your braille
praying to you 'pon bended knee

i recognize you incognito
walking with you on a balance beam
dangling with you out on a limb
chasing you on a treadmill at the gym
singing of you in a stained glass hymn
i knock on your obscure, pearly door with my sin
but you still won't let me in

Thank you for this, it gives me comfort in knowing another human has the same questions that I do ( although they may be different than mine-it still spoke to me) I especially loved your lines, "chasing you on a treadmill at the gym/ singing of you in a stained glass hymn". Thank you again.
