'Shitbum'

'Shitbum'

A Poem by Pete
"

However mean your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. - Thoreau

"
On the other side of my house is a ...

I've become the man i never thought i'd be
the guy i never cared to see
the one people point at and tell their children never to be
the one they claim is off his rocker and out of his tree
yes, i am now he

how could this happen
how could this be
how could i not see

what will be will be
whether 'tis fate or destiny
either way, i am now that one
the one with the name that sums it up perfectly
that word isn't mum
the name that they disaffectionately deem, 'shitbum'
