Worth The TripA Poem by PeteWho hears the rippling of rivers will not utterly despair of anything. - Thoreaulit by the sun the river glistens as does a chandelier fireflies dancing 'pon an open field on a summer's eve extending a long hand of innocent friendship whispering its wisdom and secrets as it struggles to reach the ocean from atop the hill, i'm drawn to its humble majesty but the embankment is steep littered with years of decaying leaves fallen trees and branches prickly thorn bushes shackling vines twisting everywhere each day so near but yet so far awayneeding to hear, up close, what truth has to say come hell or high water feeling the way it destined for the sea and me needing to hear and see both it and me seeking eternity © 2026 PeteAuthor's Note
