Pinky Promise

Pinky Promise

A Poem by Pete
"

My life has been the poem I would have writ, but I could not both live and utter it. - Thoreau

"
The world's biggest 'pinky swear ...

i'll meet you tonight
where a blue moon's light kisses the river
where trees hold hands with the sky
where mortality weeps for all the lost tomorrows
and seasons count their joys while casting regrets with sorrows

please come my dear; i pray you will
where the stillness is restless and uneasy
and the sweet songs of our hearts hold each other and sway aquiver
your picture standing forever on my soul's window sill
over eternity and atop one tree hill
oh my love, i promise i'll be there
cross my aching heart, blood oath, pinky promise and hand on bible swear
