Poetic InjusticeA Poem by Peteif everyone lived simply, thieving and robbery would be unknown. - Thoreausneakily with a quick wit as sharp as the quills of a porcupine i raise the window of your mind ducking under the raised, crooked, dirty, venetian blind stealing all of your verses unsigned and clever, unsecured rhyme as i repeatedly tell myself, "surely, you commit no crime" with my goodie bag stuffed with everything i find this isn't the first time it's just an escape from this daily grind spitting out inedible, sour seeds of bad analogies along with a spent metaphor's rotten rind my only consolations being that, i don't get caught and more importantly, i don't leave anything behind © 2026 PeteAuthor's Note
