A healthy man, indeed, is the complement of the seasons, and in winter, summer is in his heart. - Thoreau

Blanket of Snow - Momma Can

resolute, snows spreads its bleached, woven blanket
wind offering its two cents, a cold shoulder
land and trees wonder and shiver
ocean mumbling a whipped, uneasy surprise
its tide made to rise
no need to surmise

truth's bold inclemency never lies
as summer, head in its hands, weeps and cries
time and life made to ponder and apprise
yesterday and today drawn to be distance allies
for those with earth's breath, parallel hearts and wide open eyes
fully aware that spring takes its dancing lessons and always tries
