I Am And They're (The Ugly Truth)

A Poem by Pete

Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them. - Thoreau

they don't like my music, let alone its loud blare
don't care for my lack of hair
they go for the elevator while i opt for the stair
matter of fact, they hate the whole affair
they' don't come right out and say it but rather quietly declare

at least i share my truth that's within, laid bare
ever talking to the man upstairs in prayer
at least i dare
and that gives them a scare
ask me if i care

it's not my fault we were made to breathe the same air
not all sound plays fair
in a world where there's little room to spare
and the rock is too heavy for most to bear
