"Let him who has work to do recollect that the object of clothing is, first, to retain the vital heat, and secondly, in this state of society, to cover nakedness." - Thoreau

Pete,
Well good question. It all depends right. How do we view what we see? Is it with compassion or selfishness.
Good questions raised by your above poem. Interesting how 'Thoreau' considered, to retain heat and now to cover nakedness. Both are true. Also for the protection of other souls and the vulnerabilities unique to people.
Blessings,
Kathy

I was thinking the same for you. Our lives are sometimes challenging but to be able to see that truth is part of how we deal with responsibility and the 'stuff' that happens. I am still here and feel that my Savior has been my help and strength.
Bless you!

Hello Pete, well nature gives and nature takes and we also learn so much about human nature from it. I guess with the wind blown skirt, the male of the species would probably be delighted whereas if it happened to me I would be embarrassed lol. Am I being unfair to the male of our species? You can tell me off, I don’t mind. Played your music while I read and pondered.

You ask the questions that make the skin crawl and the mind ache—truths most men dodge in polite light.
Your wind isn’t just air; it’s a mirror, and what it lifts shows us ourselves, ragged and unashamed.

hard not to notice such good .... or bad, fortune for the timing and place. would i look again if another wind gave breath ... mmmmmmmmm maybe; but I would think she would be too far down the road to have the same effect. i appreciate the magic quality you give the wind ... to whistle up perfection in a woman ... "out of rubble and dirt". as Eve and Adam ... i like the Thoreau quote .. covering our nakedness was of course one of the many consequences of being aware of that nakedness eh!? according the Bible that is. which I believe in. ;)

i love the questions, and turns in each "if" line .. keeps the ball rolling.
I love reading, writing, music, nature, God and feeling emotion, not necessarily in that order. To me, these things go hand in hand. My favorite writer is Henry David Thoreau. I think he was a geni.. more..
