Two Robins

Two Robins

A Poem by Samuel Dickens

Today I 'rose, dull and weary

rubbing eyes, tired and bleary

winter's pall brought forth a groan

from old limbs of  brittle bones

Hobbling like a wounded toad

I set the trash out by the road

so the men would pick it up

with their growling, noisy truck

My duty done, I headed in

to find my coffee cup of tin

but then I saw upon the lawn

two red robins before dawn

The sight of them made me cheer

"Goodbye winter, spring is here!"

Very nicely done
We still have a few robins around because it is still quite warm
Quite possible they will stay but not normal

Thank you. I haven't seen one around here for some time. They're probably all in south Texas.
Oh Sam! You are a sneaky one! This is a lovely bit of poetry.

note to self* .. no pickles for Sam Dickens q ;
I think it might be a tad premature... Ya can't miss our robins, they resemble 12 inch softballs.

as do we, and posies and buttercups and others....we have a huge garden!
Very good. I've been seeing birds myself, though not robins. A nice, cheerful poem.
