So True

So True

A Poem by Samuel Dickens
"

Based on two old wives tales

"

Poor Suzie Butter boo-hooed so

when snapping turtle bit her toe

Never would it let her go

till it heard the thunder roll

Which turtle never did, you know,

though droplets fell in sunlight glow

Twas just the tears of wicked Flo

being beaten by her beau,

Beelzabub, who lives below

It's great you could take listening to thunderstorms and come up with this write! It takes me back to my childhood when we would put our ear close to the earth when we heard thunder and say the devil was beating his wife, or when it the sun was shining and it was raining....oh, what fun we had with it all!
Thanks for the glimpse back to years ago my friend!! And, I add the pic is perfect! Great name choices too........Suzie Butter.....love it!

Short and funny. I've heard that wive's tale too, about the devil beating his wife. I like this meandering little verse that's all about a wandering mind and association during a thunderstorm. I think you enjoy folk tales too.
