UnsteadyA Poem by rachelThis is about smiling when all you want to do is cry. It's about false impressions.
The realization hits hard. With rising emotions unsteadily tamed With fidgeting hands, and a racing heart I make calls Leave voicemails To friends that I know Won’t pick up the phone at work. But it's better that way. I haven't polished up my rusty voice So that you can believe me When I say I'm fine. Denial is my ally. Ignorance is their curse. Let them draw their own conclusions. Let them be happy ones.
