No Regret

No Regret

A Poem by Rainee Whiting

No Regret

I sit draped in linen,
my mouth sucks a cigarette.
With disheveled hair and thoughts,
I suck with no regret.

I pull my legs to my chest,
rest my chin upon my knee.
I watch the sun as it sets,
and make believe it's just for me.

Smoke snakes from my lips,
stained a vibrant red.
I smash the butt into the tray,
and return to the stranger in my bed.

Great composition. Its gotta a good rhythm to it and your description of the scene is excellent.
