The thirst for love

You can feel it in your bones
It runs through your veins
And drives your mind insane

You can see delusions
Of things you’re not sure are there
Are my feelings real
Are they really there
Or am I crazy

Until you find that one who feels the same
You will be trashed down the drain
You will be rebuked and made fun of
You will be slapped and stoned

Until you find that one that is alike
You will be filled with loneliness
And when you finally find them
You cannot help but rip their clods apart
You cannot help but devour them like a lion
Like a beast at its feast

Giving and getting at the same time
Wanting and willing at the same time
You can have whatever you want
You can stay however you want

Those moments would be written in your memories forever
They would engrave your names in stone
And make a monument in the name of your love

They would refer to your love to measure theirs
Look at those two…
Wish we were like those two…
What would those two have done…

Where your name be mentioned, mine will be too
Where my name be mentioned, yours will be too

What extremes would you go to find such love

You would risk your life for it
And tell a lie for it

You would fight for it
And chase the world for it

You would bury it in your soul
And take its secret to your grave
