Only a moment

A shorter poem than I usually write but I couldn't find myself to ruin what I have by adding anything else...

Take a deep breathe close my eyes
I go back to a time with you
Watching you dream though the dawn
My heart is racing and fingertips numb
Light breaks the window
Take in your beauty from the glow of the sun
Kiss you cheek and watch you sleep

Only a moment that’s all we have
A split second in time to decide
Blink my eyes a lifetime is gone
Only a moment that’s all we have
While I got you a moments all I need
Each moment eternity every kiss is endless

Your waking now I feel you move
You squeeze me tight and whisper words
I can't hear you speak but I feel your voice
Your eyes open bright and clear
I can see my life in your eyes
I see my life with you
I am very fond of you dear
And I love you

Remember when you wake
Every evening takes
Only a moment that’s all we have

only a moment...that is sad to only have that with that one person. but i guess if i only had a moment i would want to spend them with every sec feeling like an eternatiy! i really liked how you brought the peice to life. it had that compasion not alot of pple like to express. it was nice to finally read one of your poems. sitting waiting for more to read! hehe
