Look Closely

Look closely, and you will see-

The pain and anguish inside of me;

For all that I expected life to be-

Is nothing more than a fallacy:

A mere mystery-

To mortal man,

Trapped within some "master's" hand,

Never privy to "master's" plan,

Look closely and you will understand.

 

Look closely, into the eyes of youth,

Forever seeking, yet missing the truth,

Although as plain and obvious as a single tooth,

He must still search for the truth;

To find the root-

I'll search my soul,

From the days of youth, till my days of old;

From worthless lead to alchemaic gold,

Look closely, as it unfolds.

 

Look closely, as the war begins,

As battles are lost, many more I win;

From rational life, to a life of sin,

A war which many dare not begin;

And in the end-

Will I stand?

Will I escape this "master" plan?

Do I even give a damn?

Look closely, follow, if you can.
