my heart is like a butterfly;

silky wing’d,

fluttering.

its jazz laced rhythm

seeks the apricot nectar

of your desires;

to nestle

smoothly

in your gentle hands.

my heart flutters

within the poetry

of my love for you;

flutters

within the love

my poetry sings to you.

Author's Note

This is #1 in a three part series. Sye wrote a poem about love without poetry and I replied there is no love without poetry. This is my attempt to explain why. Also for Frieda, Jack and Julie, who write "fluttery" love poems...
