Dark Space

Dark Place
As snow falls on cedars,
wrapping everything in its cold,
blinding white,
this heart shatters
a million shards scatter
into emptiness and
a chasm, too wide to cross
opens
drawing me
into its embrace.
Funny, how cold and white
can be such a tempting lover,
her long finger nails
ripping at my back
as my blood
drips, drips, drips
on the bed
leaving red stains of you.
***
A candle flickers,
barely visible in this void,
and I reach out to
touch its hope.
I hear its gentle call,
then realize
its only mirage,
as snow continues to fall,
wrapping me tighter
in its cold, blinding white.
....And I’m gone.

Thanks Nicky, glad you liked it...
Really awesome piece of work here. I like the cold and dark theme of sorrow that you have created. I also love to stark imagery of the piece. And don't even get me started on the song. I'm a huge fan of Evanescence.my favorite part is " this white heart shatters, a million pieces scatter". I'm glad I had the opportunity to inhale this piece.
