FAP #10: Music & Moonlight

“How sweet, the moonlight sleeps upon this bank!

Here we will sit, and let the sounds of music

creep in our ears! Soft stillness and the night 

become the touches of sweet harmony.”

And in this sweet moonlit bank,

warmed by night melodies,

surrounded by the harmonious harmonies

of pulsing stars,

I give you all my love.

Thinking I could give you my strength,

wrapped in cool jazz heart beats,

I was amazed that it was you

and your soft rhythmic blues

that fingered stillness

and purpose to my jagged edges;

that you gave me life.

And so my love

come, sit here with me,

enjoy this sweet moonlight.

There is no debt here

just the “soft stillness and night”,

just the “touches of sweet harmony”,

the sharing of heart melodies

as we reach for the stars.
