Magic Woman

There is always something;

the magic of touch

in an ocean breeze

as it moves through those

California mountain trees.

Or, the spell you create

as you walk through

the scenic path to the stream

below your home,

making the flowers give you their scent.

Then again

it could be when

your mojo heart flows and 

beats from Santana’s guitar

and I hear , “Oye Como Va”-

(“listen to my music”)

and I know instinctively

“you’ve made a devil outta me”.

This is awesome & beautifully written! I feel honored to recognize a few telltale details that remind me of my place here . . . the ocean breeze is my favorite part of living here . . . but most of all, I love the music choices & lyrics you weave in to your poems so regularly . . . this Santana music in particular really stands out as provoking a bit of insanity, as well as lack of inhibitions! People tend to run around them thar hills buck naked to the strains of ole Carlos . . . *heh! heh! heh!*

The music brought me back to college days. Who can listen to Santana and now sway those hips...think passionate thoughts....go just a wee bit insane? Ah, a woman who can encourage the scent off of the flowers is a magic woman for sure. As for that ocean breeze, well, no sorcerer holds more power. This should have been a Friday Night Write, Curt.
