Light

Light (Poem #17)

 

 

The darkness is overwhelming at times,

and I need to hide

from the demons lurking there;

those insidious insecurities,

I know so well,

never leaving me alone.

 

There is light though,

I’ve seen it

               once

when you held me,

and told me,

if we face the dark

               together,

the dawn would come.
