Love Sonnet XLIX

Tonight, in my dreams, you were real,

your hands, tender with warmth,

caressed my face with desire.

I could feel your arms hold me, your

breath tickled my neck with promise,

the promise of a better world and I

could live in your heart with my heart.

Tonight, when I fell into dreams,

I felt your lips touch mine with the

taste of haiku and the colors of exploding

nebulae. Swirling galaxies, too many

to count, enticed our passion, leaving

us entwined and breathless, as moonbeams

came through my window.

A cleverly constructed sonnet....what would Shakespeare have done without them?

I like "the taste of haiku"---
Nicely done, Curt.

Hello RedZone, I read practically all the time, whether on my base or now that I am leaving the house more!
THIS write drew me in to STOP.
What a wonderful dream, so realistic in your portrayal, darling.
It's difficult to find the correct words to relay that beautiful passion you feel during those special moments.
This poem surely comes close. I love the relaxing moonbeams at the end.
Thanks for sharing.
