Love Sonnet LI

 

 

In the land of Winken, Blinken, and Nod,

where dragons flew, and unicorns trod,

I walked with you hand in hand,

where the sea caressed the sand.

 

In this time of childhood innocence,

we watched clouds of rabbits with fluffy scents

sail across a wondrous blue,

and I knew then, I would always love you.

 

As we age and think on our delight,

let us reminisce this love so right

as we giggled and held each other tight.

 

My love, long after we are gone, seen through 

morning mist and fog, unicorns and dragons roam 

in the land of Winken, Blinken, and Nod.

I am not sure exactly why but this fun poem reminds me of the first girl I ever kissed...I was her first as well...my best friend and this girl's twin sister set us up for it. From what I remember it was quite pleasant...at least for me; she might have a totally different view.
