Love Sonnet LIV

 

 

Love is a crazy thing as there

is so little in the world, yet

the moon reflects through my window,

and you smile in my direction.

 

Yesterday, though, your smile

turned to laughter as a warm

wind blew your scent to me.

I inhaled deeply into your

 

heart and fell into the abyss

not knowing if I would

ever land. It was a leap

 

I promised you when

we were very young,

and you fell into my arms.

I saw this sample on the previous page and beren's review is what actually drew me.
Of course, my main draw is romance and this is so spot on perfect it penetrates my soul.
I know the song and even though I didn't listen, it was playing in my head as I read your work.
In my imagination, I am the subject and apply the words which causes my heart to react...or not.
This one left me with my heart beating rapidly, Aztec, such a great poet you are without question.
"You made me promises, promises,...Why do I believe?" I love this song. "Arm in arm we laughed like kids At all the silly things we did
But you can't finish what you start
If this is love it breaks my heart" The way you wrap up your poem is absolute perfection, being I am a believer in "Love Always" my thoughts go straight to your betrothed, "I promised you when we were very young, and you fell into my arms." There is no better ending. Thanks, love, for sharing this beautiful part of your life.
