....needed now more than ever

Yellow Atrocity Screams

In the depth of night,

when all is silent,

I can hear you scream.

It’s a blood scream

not from a dream but

the reality of human atrocity.

This sound is yellow,

the shade often seen hiding in shadow,

or imagined while listening

to a morose Bach fugue -

organ music played

with demonic laughter.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 2013 findings:

     * 35% of women world wide have been victims of sexual   violence during their lifetimes;

     * Globally: intimate partners commit 38% of the murders of women;

     * An estimated one million children around the world, mostly girls, enter the sex trade each year.

     * In the U.S., 20 - 25% of college women experience rape or attempted rape;

     * In the U.S., a woman is beaten every 15 seconds;

     * According to sexual violence experts, more than 3 women in the U.S. lose their lives at the hands of their partners every day;

     * Since the incident where NFL player Ray Rice was caught on video assulting his fiancee over 600 women have been killed by their partners.**

ALL this and so much more is why we need revolution and nothing less to end these horrors committed against half of humanity.

Thank you Eternity. You, my friend, are way too cyynical for someone so young. In spite of appearances, we are living in a time where the possiblities for real social and political change is staring us in the face amidst these horrors of fascism and patriarchy. It all depends on what we do now.

I believe in separation of the sexes. Musk says our population is on the brink because of the Womens Lib destroyed that barrier. I believe our Creator made male and female to do their own agendas. No matter how much the female lifts weights, a MAN can still take her down. HER place is giving birth and raising our next generation. HIS place is using those God-given strengths females don't have and making a better world. Sure, they can discuss and agree or disagree on plans for the future. I even changed tires at my job while my ex baby-sat the kid. BUT to fight on the battlefield? To be cops? MEN WILL DESTROY WOMEN. Everytime there is a woman working those jobs...several men have to come back her up.

To be blunt, there in lies the problem. For 10s of thousands of years, women, along side men hunted, fought and did everything for survival. The only real difference was biological, women had babies which oft time kept them close to the home fires. Because of this it was women, not men who held sway in decision making, it was also women who discovered farming because they saw how the seeds of the fruit and nuts they ate (and the mainstay of the diet) grew year after year. But as society evolved from hunter-gather type society because men had the weapon (for hunting) they stole the power from women and began a patriarchal society. Her "place" was replaced to subservience and as 'religion' also evolved, this place/role became codified into full blown oppression. It has been religion, belief in god(s) that is the foundation of this oppression. ALL OF THIS came into being AND can go out of being, but on a better more equal social relationship between women and men. All god(s) are man made, all religious beliefs are a denial of reality. Having said this, there are many people, decent people who are religious and who have and will put their lives on the line for the end of this oppression of women. This is reality and what matters, NOT the lies that are continued by Musk or any other figure. Women and men together will destroy this patriarchy, ushering in a whole new era of human relationships.

In your world women along side men hunted, ect. The civilized majority divided their roles. When women start thinking they are men is when things go to hell. Not all God's are man-made. THE GOD is GOD. You will find that out. And Musk has some good beliefs even though he is eccentric.

This is a haunting and powerful piece. The image of a "yellow scream" is unforgettable. It gives color and shape to pain that’s too often silenced. The poem and the the findings by WHO together make a chilling, urgent call to action. Strong, important writing.

I was living in NYC in 2014 when the Billion Women Rising Happen and it was thrilling to hear this song and see women doing this dance in the streets of NYC!! Yes, it is a "call to action" as the conditions for woman has gotten worse and will get even more so with a fascist regime attempting to consolidate power in the US. We can not allow this to happen. "Dance because we love. Dance because we dream. Dance because we are beautiful creatures".... DANCE!!
