Love Sonnet LXXI

 

 

I see your face in my dreams,

your red hair, blown by your breath,

smells of your jasmine shampoo,

and lies across my breast.

 

Yaraa, why do you haunt me?

Why does my mind always return

to you, to your soft skin, and

savory kiss? Why does my heart

 

beat faster at these visions? It

has been years now, yet I can not

forget the way you felt in my arms,

 

or the way your lips taste, and the

dreams they held. Yaraa, I confess,

I have loved you more than you’ll ever know.
