Love Sonnet XCII

 

 

Sitting on the cold floor, back against

The wall, I wonder, do I

Ever cross your mind? It’s late,

3:30am, and my mind finds you

 

Staring back at me with

Those green eyes. But

you held onto your old life,

and my worn flannel shirt,

 

perhaps thinking it might

warm you again someday,

might bring alive those dreams we

 

once held. Now, as I head out

to our forgotten home, I realize

there is only the nothing of being alone.

Hi... Holding on to something meaningful, a shirt, yet the love has faded...difficult to keep...now you are feeling alone...which is very sad.... it happens frequently in our lives...and sometimes we face total depression...but we must move on at some point.... NICE!

There is a way where everyone wants to live like. Why do you want to disrespect other way of life which you don't like. I see it is common say a good boy is odd because he never enjoys life but infact you are making fun of your own self be insulting good persons. You are on your foot is because your family lived good. Do you how fate punishes those who are suffering bad are sometime back sinners.

Thank you Jessy, it's an interesting take on this sonnet. But why would you assume that the poem is disrespecting a person or their decision to leave for another way to live? People are complex and diverse in their being, in what they want in life and this is in constant change and motion. This does not mean they should be disrespected but it does leave people lonely at times, or disappointed, confused. Shouldn't everyone take responsibility for the decisions and acts they make and do? Does this make them sinners?

In the case of these two people, both recognized the dreams they once held and the loss of those dreams, but neither disrespected the other. But loss is still loss and it hurts, even if it was the best thing for both of them.

I personally do not believe in the concepts of 'sin' or of 'karma', and neither is reflected in this poem. But I do believe that everyone is responsible for the consequences of their choices. Words and actions have meaning and so should be made with care and with the empathy that no one is better than anyone else. This would include the comments we leave, as everyone who read the poem can see and read them.

It's reply to one of your review. I see in this world good people are commiented as stupids who doesn't know how to think. Good people are like ants who doesn't harm unless you hurt them. Why good people are rediculed as if they are non sensical. They never harm how much ever you insult them with blame and scolding comenting even their private parts. I don't know how people can watch my private parts of woman whom they never meet them. I am much hurt with their comments. Gods like Jesus krishna never make fun of comments on good people. I don't know why few people comment as if we are useless in our way. I see much blame in this site. I don't like and want to look petry of others. I don't see any good poets anymore here. They make fun of others and enjoy doing that.

Thanks again Jessy for your views, not on this poem (as you have stated in your above comment), but for something I wrote as comment on another poem (it couldn't have been a review of something you wrote since I have never read anything you wrote), which is somewhat strange since my understanding is that we come to a poem, read it and either leave a comment or not about that particular poem. So I am confused by your original comment which as you say is not about the poem Love Sonnet XCII.

Why??

You make no mention as to the 'review" you are upset about. Am I supposed to read your mind or perform some kind of magic? And what exactly are you upset about? Was the "review" a lie? Did it name you as the person I was talking about?

In the future, I would request that if you have a problem with me personally or a comment/review I have left on someone elses poem do so by messaging me directly, or on the review/comment I left on that other poem. I will be happy to engage with you in principled conversation.

As for your concerns about the tendency on this website, I agree there are far too many snarky and personal attacks that are left on poets and the poems they write. At times, I think it is a conscious effort to degrade the arts and creative thinking and the diversity of imagination. We have lost quite a few very good and talented poets this way. They were honest and decent people who should still be here but could no longer put up with the BS. It is a real shame that this happened and worse that it continues.

One last word here, I think it is best if this conversation move to the messages if you want to continue.
