Clash of the Lost Ones

Clash of the Lost Ones

A Poem by Mariah

DARKNESS, all around

The only light peeking from the blurry corners

If only we had a choice

If only we had control

But we are held captive by our former allies

thrown to the ground

Like the lies we once told

Left to die

Like the traitors we have become

And the pain inflicted

Spreads past the battlefield

Wounding more then porcelain faces

Spilling more than innocent blood

Clash of the lost ones

Those afraid to pass through the threshold once more

Without the protection of grey skies

Without the security of failure

Without the familiarity of inadequacy

For fear of a new kind of resentment

Some try to hide

Within the crevices of their ignorant shells

While others charge into the unknown head on

Remembering their strength

Miscalculating the chances of human error

Clash of the lost ones

But you know it's inevitable

the wounded porcelain faces

and the innocent blood spilt

We couldn't have known

That this war was illusory

A misinterpretation

Was all we needed

To rekindle the flames once again

Clash of the lost ones.
