Betrayed

Is it different every time 

To be betrayed 

Or is the same dull ache

Pounding through your chest 

The same wave of shock 

Washing over your mind 

The same exact thought 

Going through your head 

"Oh no... that can't be right 

He would never do that" 

The same wavering resolve 

unthinkable questions 

"Did he do that 

Why did he do that" 

The never ending nostalgia 

Racking your body 

Because if it is 

I don't think I could handle it 

No, I definitely wouldn't be able to 

Because I can't even handle this one
