Betrayer

I can see it in their eyes 

From those who've condemned me 

The Hate 

Revulsion 

Contempt 

Fear 

And from those who don't know 

Confusion 

Shock 

Hurt 

Fear 

With a twisted gut 

And a heavy heart 

I ask myself 

For the thousandth time 

Why 

Out of the swirling emotions 

I pick out the few I can understand 

Regret 

Self-Hatred 

Nostalgia 

But most of all 

Fear 

And I realize nothing 

Will ever be the same 

Because I finally understand 

the last look in everyone's faces 

Betrayal....

And I am the Betrayer
